Preparations are underway for a holiday tradition at Mid-Prairie High School – the Madrigal Dinner. High School Vocal Music Teacher Collette McClellen has been in or involved with 30 of the 31 shows over the years. She shares it was the brainchild of Dr. Louise Frakes, and describes the event, “So what it is is a dinner theater show, is how I would easily describe it for some people who have never heard of a madrigal dinner. It is a five-course meal. The whole event lasts about two-and-a-half to three hours. Every single student that’s in choir participates and we have a wide range of roles.”

She says students have been rehearsing with some acting as town criers, servers, knights, dancers, royal court, and more. The whole choir will sing and small groups will also perform throughout the event.

This year’s king and queen are Logan McClellen and Grace Putman.
