Main Street Washington is gearing up for Pink Friday. Many downtown and local businesses will be participating. KCII spoke with Main Street Washington Executive Director Samantha Meyer to learn more about the day, “Pink Friday started about three or four years ago, it’s a pretty relatively new celebration I guess, and it’s kind of a shop small combat to Black Friday. So, it’s really just a shop local first or at least look local first. So this is just our way of saying, ‘Hey, we are going to have this really fun Friday, we are going to serve you these pink fun drinks. But it’s going to be beautiful and fun and we are going to have some exclusive sales and drawings throughout the day for you, just please come look at us first at least.’” Pink Friday is a small business spin on the traditional Black Friday shopping experience, reminding people to shop small first. You can find more information on participating Washington retailers on the Main Street Washington Facebook Page.
