The Winfield-Mount Union Wolves got their new girls’ basketball season started on the right note Friday night by rolling past New London 65-28.

WMU built a 15-8 lead by the end of the first quarter and stretched their advantage to double digits by halftime, but it was a huge 22-5 run in the third quarter that put them in complete control.

Winfield-Mount Union tries to go 2-0 to begin the season later tonight when they play their first conference game of the season against Pekin.
