The Washington Demons have plenty to be thankful for after a strong football season where they started 3-0 and finished with a record of 6-3, and 13 total players who helped them achieve that success have earned All-3A District 4 accolades for their efforts.
Among that group is Jude Carter, who makes the first-team defense at linebacker after leading District 4 with 84-and-a-half total tackles and also racking up 10 tackles for loss. Fellow senior Jayfred Espinosa joins him on the first team as a defensive back after collecting two of the Demons’ district-leading 12 interceptions.
On offense, Kael Williams is selected to the first team at running back. The junior led Washington with 528 rushing yards and six touchdowns but also had 215 yards and four TDs as a receiver.
Mason Morgan gets a first-team nod at wide receiver after leading the Demons with 21 catches for 464 yards and four scores, while fellow senior Summit Keith is selected to the first-team offensive line.
Starting quarterback Logan McDole receives second-team honors for Washington. The senior passed for 1,157 yards and 15 touchdowns in seven games while completing over 61 percent of his attempts, and McDole added 521 yards and five TDs on the ground.
Senior Lucas Zahs and sophomore Greyson Hartman make the second-team offensive line, while two of the Demons’ dominant defensive linemen also get second-team recognition.
Senior Keider Gomez-Valdez had a huge final season with 14-and-a-half tackles for loss, while junior Rudy Wolfe joined him at defensive tackle to put up three sacks each and had 9.5 tackles for loss by himself.
Sophomore Blaine Rees gets the second-team nod at linebacker after an all-around great season where he collected 51.5 total tackles, 8.5 stops for loss, three sacks and two fumble recoveries.
Junior Caden Greiner is also on the second-team defense after coming up with 36 tackles and two picks in the secondary. Senior Conner Leyden gets the final second-team selection for Washington at punter by averaging nearly 31 yards per kick.
