The Youth Service Board (YSB) of Washington County collected  260 pounds of food to benefit HACAP, during their most recent drive that ran from October to November 22nd. With the collective efforts of local schools and community members, this initiative will help provide much-needed support to families in the area. Washington Community Schools contributed 166 pounds of food, while Mid-Prairie Schools added another 94 pounds to the total. These donations will make a tangible difference in addressing food insecurity in the local communities. The donations have been delivered to HACAP, where they will be distributed to individuals and families in need. YSB is committed to continuing its mission of fostering service-minded youth leadership and looks forward to organizing more initiatives to support the community. The YSB is sponsored by Washington County Extension and Outreach, in partnership with Volunteer Iowa.
