Two people were injured after a vehicle hit a deer on Highway 218 near Riverside. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday, a car versus deer collision occurred in the southbound lanes of Highway 218 near 135th Street. Washington County Sheriff’s personnel responded to the scene and requested medical assistance and the Riverside Fire Department to respond for injuries, and fluid on the highway. 

The driver was Alexander Moyner of Burlington.

Iowa State Patrol, Washington County Ambulance, Riverside QRS, and Riverside Fire Department assisted at the scene. Two people were taken by ambulance to the University of Iowa Hospital. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
