The Keota Eagles continued their undefeated start to the boys’ basketball season with a 69-57 victory over Iowa Valley Friday night.
A 25-16 lead for Keota after one quarter and an 11-point advantage at halftime got sliced down to six going into the final period, but the Eagles closed the game on a 12-6 run to finish off the win and move to 4-0, including a 2-0 record in the East division of the South Iowa Cedar League.
The Keota girls would suffer a 64-50 loss to Iowa Valley, as a 14-9 run by the Tigers to start the second half built on their four-point halftime lead. The loss in their conference opener drops the Eagles to 1-4 overall. Both Keota teams next play Tuesday against English Valleys.
