A $1 million grant will be going to update items at Iowa’s only presidential library and museum. The Washington County Riverboat Foundation presented the grant to the Hoover Presidential Foundation to update The War on 1,000 Fronts gallery at the West Branch facility. 

Herbert Hoover was elected the 31st president of the United States and served in the White House from 1929 to 1933. He was born in West Branch, Iowa, in 1874. 

To date the Washington County Riverboat Foundation has awarded $54,062,926 in competitive grants across the region and $70,380,749 in municipal grants to the cities located in Washington County.
