The WACO Warriors won a conference boys’ wrestling dual against Louisa-Muscatine last night 48-32. A victory by fall for sophomore Tommy Unternahrer at 285 pounds got things started for WACO.
Even after Louisa-Muscatine pulled within 10 points on the scoreboard, junior Harley Larrimore earned a pin at 175 to finish off the victory for the Warriors.
The Lone Tree Lions would not have the same luck with duals in a quadrangular last night in New London. Lone Tree fell to the hosting Tigers 48-18 before losing 54-24 to Wapello and getting beaten 66-12 by Montezuma.
Freshman Ace Swaink was a winner for the Lions by picking up a pin at 150 lbs. While Lone Tree is back in action Saturday at the Springville Invitational, WACO will next wrestle this weekend at a tournament hosted by Tri-County.
