Join the Washington Free Public Library Foundation for their first ever spelling bee. This is a fun and friendly competition for all ages. Families, schools, businesses and civic groups are encouraged to put together teams. The spelling bee will be held on February 20th at 6:30 p.m. at the Washington Public Library. The competition is open to ages 10 and up, with teams of three to five people. Registration for adults is $25 per person, and children between 10 and 18 years old are $10. Each person on the team will sign up individually and enter their team name in the form that is available at the link with this story at KCIIRadio.com. There will also be a silent auction featuring creative works by local artists available at the event. All proceeds from the auction and the event will benefit the MakeIT Place. Spectators for the spelling are welcome, and the event is free.
