Every two seconds someone in the US needs blood, and 17% of all transfusions of blood products go to cancer patients who are fighting for their lives, according to the American Red Cross. Washington residents have an opportunity on Monday, January 20th, at Washington Public Library from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to donate blood with ImpactLife. ImpactLife provides blood products and services to more than 120 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin. They collect blood at 23 donor centers and at more than 5,000 blood drives held each year.
