Reanah Utterback still cannot be beaten. The Sigourney-Keota senior girls’ wrestler is now 42-0 after winning the LC Titans Survival Series yesterday at Lewis Central High School in Council Bluffs.
Utterback, the defending state champion and number-one ranked wrestler in the state in Class 1A at 115 pounds, defeated all three opponents she faced yesterday by fall, claiming a 13th tournament championship this season. SK teammate Sadie Clarahan would finish sixth at 125.
Utterback won another tournament on Saturday when she took the title at 115 lbs at the Northwest Invitational in Waukee, pinning all three of her opponents. Clarahan would finish seventh at 125, as would fellow sophomore Kia Montgomery at 130.
Lone Tree also wrestled this weekend at the Marilyn Invitational in East Buchanan, where senior Sami Branson was runner-up at 235 lbs and sophomore Olivia Magruder took third place for the Lions at 130.
Meanwhile, freshman Maiya Singbeil represented the Highland Huskies at the Oelwein Invitational this weekend and finished third at 130.
