The Washington Demons suffered a 64-49 loss at home to Newton last night in boys’ basketball. After Washington went on an 11-6 run to get within two points in the opening quarter, Newton put together a 21-6 run to close out the first half and take a 34-17 lead into halftime.

The Cardinals would roll from there, never leading by less than 12 points in the second half and going up by as much as 23. A fifth straight loss drops the Demons to 5-8.
