Snowfall in Washington has been lower than normal this winter. According to the National Weather Service, the normal amount of snowfall for Washington by this point in the season is over a foot at 12.9 inches. So far, Washington has only observed 2.7 inches of snow. The normal amount of snow for the month of January is 7.5 inches, and so far only 1.3 inches has fallen in Washington to start the year. 

As of Monday, the average temperature has been about three degrees below the normal 21 degrees so far this month. Warmer than normal temperatures and gusty winds are expected in the area this week as we end January and enter February, listen to KCII for weather updates.
