In a work session Wednesday, Kalona City Council agreed to increase prices on burial plots in each city maintained cemeteries. The plots in the cemeteries will now cost $400.00. Each Space in the columbarium will also cost $400.00. For graves, it will cost $450.00 for a full burial. The cremation/columbarium will be $200.00, and a grave opening during the weekend will add another $100.00 to the regular opening fee. The rates will go into effect on February 1st.
