Head Sigourney girls basketball coach Kaylee Weber joined the KCII Radio Coaches Corner after their win over Highland on Monday. “I liked how we came out early and jumped on them right away. It was our goal to put it out early and then everyone plays better with a lead. My girls did a really good job with that and then they didn’t give up throughout the game. We didn’t have our best moment here and there, but they did a good job of adjusting to their (Highland) defenses and getting offensive and defensive rebounds. They did a really good job with that. I was really proud of them. I am glad that they were able to continue to find the open girls and get down to the lane and get to the free throw line and really score however they could”.

Sigourney head boys coach Mitch Eslick went on the KCII Radio Coaches Corner to talk about their offensive effort against Belle Plaine. “I thought our ball movement was really good. We were really unselfish, passing up good shots to get great shots. I just thought we had some good balance, we had multiple guys in the mix. Our leading scorer and best player, Issac Bruns only had seven and we were still able to get to 67 as a team. That was a really positive sign for us overall. We were able to spread it around a little bit and have some guys score who maybe typically don’t score as much”.
