It’s an All-KCII area rivalry showdown tonight in Kalona when the Hillcrest Academy Ravens entertain the Lone Tree Lions in a Southeast Iowa Superconference doubleheader.

The Raven boys are 17-2 overall this year, and 13-2, in a first-place tie atop the Southeast Iowa Superconference North Division. Hillcrest was a 66-41 winner Saturday over HLV behind 17 points from Seth Ours. This season, the Ravens score 65 per game and give up 42 on 51% shooting, 34% from three and 60% at the line with 27 rebounds, 17 assists, 11 steals and 10 turnovers per game. Individually, Ours leads with 15 points per night, Mason Bender averages seven boards and Rowan Miller six assists and three steals per game.

Lone Tree is 6-11 this season, 4-10 in the Superconference after a 77-57 loss to Louisa-Muscatine a week ago, despite 18 points from Reece Holbrook. This year the Lions average 59 points per game and give up 61, on 42% shooting, 30% from three and 58% from the line, with 27 rebounds, 13 assists, 10 steals and 15 turnovers per game. Individually, Emmett Burke averages 16 points, six assists and three steals per game. Holbrook averages eight boards per night. The Ravens have won nine straight in the series including a 69-47 January victory. The Lions last win came in 2020.

The Raven girls are 10-9 overall and 8-7 in the Superconference after a 47-43 loss Saturday to HLV. On the year, the Ravens average 49 points per game and give up 47 on 34% shooting, 26% from three and 49% at the line with 32 rebounds, 14 steals, 10 assists and 23 turnovers per game. Individually, Claire Withrow and Malia Yoder each score 15 per game, with Yoder adding five steals and four assists per night. Delaney Shaw’s nine boards per game are best.

Lone Tree is 16-3 overall, 12-3, second place in the Superconference North after a 64-16 win over L-M last time out where Cate Sexton had 13 points. This year, the Lions average 58 points per game and give up 35 on 34% shooting, 27% from three and 55% at the line with 37 rebounds, 16 steals, 12 assists and 15 turnovers per game. Individually, Finley Jacque is the leader at 16 points, four assists and four steals per game. Rylee Shield has seven boards per night. Lone Tree has beaten the Ravens 10 times in a row including a 67-36 win in January. The last Hillcrest win was 2019. Action starts tonight at 6p.m. At Dwight Gingerich Court at Hillcrest Union.
