The WACO Warriors will host the Winfield-Mt.Union Wolves in a double header for the KCII Area Game of the Week tonight. The WACO boys are 14-4 and 12-2 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North. They are hoping to extend their winning streak to three games. On Friday, the Warriors defeated the Wildcats of Columbus 72-55. This season, the Warriors have been averaging 57 points per game, which ranks them third in the SEISC North. They allow 47 points per game, which is second in the SEISC North. They haul in 30 rebounds a contest, 15 assists and 10 steals per game. They have a 41% field goal percentage, 33.6% three point percentage and 61% at the free throw line. All those stats are top five in the SEISC North. They are led by junior, Christian Stacy, who is having a phenomenal season, averaging 20 points a game.

The last time these two teams met was back in early January with the Warriors winning 51-42. Since 2006, WACO leads the series 19-14. WACO has won 4 of the last 6 meetings. The last time WMU defeated WACO was last year, when they won 64-56.

The Winfield-Mt.Union boys are 11-7 and 11-3 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North. For the season, WMU is averaging 54 and allowing 47 points per game. They are top 5 in rebounding the ball with 31 a night. They are second in the conference for dishing out the ball with 16 a night. They lead the conference in steals with 12 per game. For blocks, they average 2.4, which is fourth in the SEISC North. They have a 40% shooting percentage, 27% three point percentage and 56% at the charity stripe. For the season, they are led by Senior Jake Edwards who averages 19 points a game. 

For the WACO girls, they hope to end their 5 game losing skid. They are 11-8 and 9-6 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North. The Warriors are coming off a loss to Columbus 44-33. During the 2024/2025 season, the Warriors are averaging 45 points, 30 rebounds, 8.8 steals, 7.8 assists and 1.6 blocks per game. They have a 33.6% field goal percentage, 24% at the three point line and 48.8% from the charity stripe. They are in the five of those categories with points, field goal and free throw percentage. For the season, they are led by the sophomore Brenna Graber, who scores 13 points a night.

In their last meeting back on January 4th, Waco edged out WMU 46-45. Since 2007, the series has been tied 17-17 with WACO winning the last three meetings. Before 2023,  WMU had won six straight. 

The Winfield Mt.Union girls are 4-15 and 3-12 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North. The Wolves have won two straight as they defeated Wapello in their last game on Friday 53-36. This season, they have been averaging 38 points per game. They average 33 rebounds a game, fifth best in the conference. They dish out 10 assists per game, 8.4 steals and 3.9 blocks per game, which is the second best in the SEISC North. Their leading scorer is the junior, Madison Kellogg, who scores 10 points a night.
