Welcome To Riverside

Riverside residents are able to use the Kalona Library and the city council recently approved funds to support the facility. Olivia Kahler, Director of the Kalona Public Library, attended the February 3rd council meeting and presented an annual report. She made a funding request of $40,000 for the fiscal year of 2026. It was approved by the council and passed unanimously.

This is an annual thing for the Riverside City Council approving funds for the Kalona Library. Last year the city provided $35,000 as the City of Riverside does not have its own library. According to City Administrator, Cole Smith, the funds get larger every year.
