The Washington Demons wrapped up the regular season in boys’ basketball with a pair of road losses this week, including an 85-50 defeat at Solon Thursday.

After a grabbing a one-point lead, Washington found itself on the wrong end of a 25-13 run that put Solon ahead 37-26 at halftime, and the Spartans would push that lead to 23 points by halftime.

The Demons would fall Tuesday at Mount Vernon 65-37, trailing 14-6 after a quarter of play and falling behind 35-17 by halftime. Sophomore Nic Stone led the team by scoring nine points.

Washington ends the regular season with a record of 9-13. The Demons now gear up for the Class 3A playoffs, which begin Monday with a trip to Fort Madison for a Substate 6 quarterfinal.
