A Washington Demon softball player will be continuing her career at the next level. Senior Alyvia Anderson has signed to play at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo.
Anderson will be joining a Hawkeye program that is just being established and is currently playing its first season. But, even if the Redtails lack a lot of history, Anderson tells KCII Sports that this team feels like her next home.
“It just kind of drew me there,” Anderson says, “and I really liked it. It’s been really exciting. I’ve been looking for this all my career, and [I am] happy to have it done.”
Anderson is gearing up for her final season with Washington after a breakout junior campaign where she led the team with 10 doubles, three home runs and 43 runs batted in.
Anderson was also second on the squad with 45 total hits and had a .375 batting average on her way to second-team All-Southeast Conference honors for a Demon squad that won 24 games for a second straight season.
