Golden Hawks will be participating in the FFA Southeast District Convention this weekend after a strong showing at the sub-district events. On February 13th, seven members of the Mid-Prairie FFA chapter went to North Mahaska and two received gold to advance to districts. Charlotte Sieren is advancing to the district competition in Extemporaneous Speaking and Adelyn Huston is advancing in Ag Sales.

Huston shares more about her individual Ag Sales category where she promoted a product for sheep, “In preparing for the contest, I met with [Elsa] Schmidt (FFA Advisor) and we kind of just went over things. And then really it was truly just practicing and being able to understand my product well.”

In addition, Huston is running for the district reporter seat and the election will be held Saturday at the Southeast District Convention.
