Fresh off of a Southeast Iowa Superconference North Division title, Hillcrest Academy boys basketball saw six members of this year’s squad make All-SEISC teams.
Senior Seth Ours was a unanimous First-team selection. Ours finished with 356 total points, fourth in the North Division of the Superconference. He shot 84% at the free throw line to lead the league and was 37% from three, sixth best in the Superconference, with a second best in conference 56 made threes. Our’s 137 total made field goals were fourth most. His 45 steals were ninth in league play, to go with 63 assists and 50 boards.
Fellow senior Bryce Bailey was also a First-team SEISC choice. His 302 total points were 10th in the Superconference this season. Bailey pulled in 82 boards, had 49 assists, 30 steals, shooting 47% from the floor and 34% from three. His 121 total made shots were eighth in conference with 42 made threes, fifth most.
Superconference Second Teamers included senior Mason Bender and junior Rowan Miller. Bender closed his career with 180 rebounds, third in the Superconference, with 74 assists, ninth most and 39 steals. He shot 57% from the floor, fifth best in league play with 113 total made shots, 10th most, and 266 points. Miller was the facilitator for the Ravens, finishing with 156 assists, best in conference and fourth most in Class 1A, his 3.20 assist to turnover ratio also led the Superconference. Miller’s 58 steals were fifth in conference. He scored 208 points, pulled in 90 rebounds, and shot 34% from three, ninth in conference.
A pair of Ravens received honorable mention honors, junior Lincoln Miller and sophomore Kale Bailey. Miller shot 46% from the floor and 45% from three, with 44 points, 27 assists and eight steals. Bailey shot 62% from the floor, 10th best in Class 1A, with 237 points, 110 rebounds, 36 assists, and 27 steals.
The Ravens won their first Superconference North Division title since 2011, going 14-2 in league play and finishing with a 21-4 overall record, their most wins since 2018.
