Drought conditions remained steady across Iowa from last week to this week. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, 79-percent of Iowa is experiencing drought conditions with 1.2 percent in severe drought, 56 percent in moderate drought, and 79 percent abnormally dry.

At this time, Washington, Henry, Iowa, and Keokuk counties are not experiencing drought conditions. Portions of Johnson and Louisa County are abnormally dry. And Iowa County has areas abnormally dry and in moderate drought. Henry and Jefferson counties are both enforcing burn bans.

One year ago, nearly 98 percent of Iowa was abnormally dry with almost 20 percent in extreme drought.
