A pair of local schools are on the course Monday at Lagos Acres in Keota for boys and girls golf action when the Keota Eagles host the Hillcrest Academy Ravens and English Valleys Bears in a triangular.

Through April 14th, the Eagle boys are 6-2 this season after beating Montezuma head-to-head 166-198, led by medalist Billie Kindred’s 36 and runner-up Porter Cave’s 40. This year, Keota has a 166 team average per nine holes and 332 average per 18. Individual leaders on nine are Billie Kindred at 37 and Brennan McGuire at 38. On 18, McGuire is the leader at 77 with Kindred and Porter Cave at 82.The Keota girls are 0-3 this year, dropping a dual to HLV Thursday 239-246, despite a 45 from Lainey Swanson. This year, the Eagles have a 255 team average on nine with Swanson’s 49 average best on the team.

The Hillcrest Academy boys are 3-0 this year, with wins over Columbus, Wapello and WACO. The Ravens have a 169 team average per nine, led by Rowan Miller at 37 and Liam Schrock 38. The Hillcrest girls are 1-2 this year with a win over WACO and losses to Columbus and Wapello. The Ravens are shooting 258 as a team on nine this year, led by Ava Miller’s 60 average.

The English Valleys boys are 2-2 this year, they were second at their home quadrangular Tuesday with a 205 team score, led by Gage Heyne’s 41. On the year, the Bears have a 206 average per nine and 431 average on 18. In both, they are led by Heyne at 40 and 77 respectively. The EV girls are 0-3 this year. Their last team score was April 10th at a triangular at BGM against the Bears and Lynnville-Sully where they shot a 233 and finished third, led by Kylee Frazier’s 55. This season, the Bears have a 233 team average on nine, led by Frazier’s 55.

Last season the Hillcrest girls won this event with a team score 253, while the Eagles were the boys winner with a 168. Action starts tonight at 4:15p.m. And continues into the evening at Lagos Acres Golf Course in Keota.
