A dry week in Iowa worsened drought conditions, according to data released by the U.S. Drought Monitor on Thursday.

After being drought-free a week ago, 22.01% of Washington County is now abnormally dry.

Henry County remained drought-free and Louisa County held with less than a percentage of the county being abnormally dry.

The entirety of Keokuk County is now abnormally dry after being nearly drought-free last week, while 73% of Jefferson County is abnormally dry despite being entirely drought-free a week ago. 

Iowa County remains the driest in the KCII listening area with 32.58% of the county in a moderate drought, and 64.28% of the county listed as abnormally dry, a 13-point increase from last week’s numbers.
