The Iowa National Guard Readiness Center has undergone a makeover, and the 832nd Engineer Company will unveil the renovations this Friday in Mount Pleasant. Colonel Gregory Hapgood says the project took around nine months to complete and cost about two point seven million dollars. The renovated center has been enlarged by about three thousand square feet, which made room for new offices and classrooms.
Hapgood says the space inside has been reconfigured to improve soldiers’ training experience. He also says there will be enough space in the center to where it can be rented out for public events. The rededication takes place Friday at 11 a.m. and will feature an open house and tours for the public.
