The City of Wellman is working to fix up a few city streets and alleys before the cold comes. City Administrator Mark Baker says they are performing chip seal repairs to some of the streets and alleys that are in bad shape.

Among the streets getting attention is 8th Avenue, where a portion had to be torn up in repairing a recent water main break.

The break occurred while Alliant was attempting to set a power line pole. As for the repair work as a whole, Baker says they are working on around five streets and five alleys.
