The Washington Soil and Water Conservation District and the Dean Gerot family are co-sponsoring a scholarship for high school seniors interested in studying agriculture or natural resources in college. Teresa Munn with the Soil and Water Conservation District says these annual scholarships are given to Iowa High School seniors that will be used for their first year of college education. The winning applicant will receive a $1000 scholarship with regional winners receiving $300.
Three scholarships will also be awarded on the state level. March first is the deadline for applications and interested high school Seniors living in Washington County can contact their high school guidance office or the Washington Soil and Water Conservation District for more information.
