The Washington County Conservation Board is getting ready to host a hunter safety class later this month. Ranger Bob Bellmer at the Conservation Education Center in Marr Park says per Iowa law, anyone born after January 1, 1972 has to be certified in hunter education before they can buy an Iowa hunting license.
He says anyone who is 11 years old and older can participate. Bellmer says the ten hour class is being held in three-parts. Pre-registration is required.
The course will take place on Tuesday, the 27th and Thursday, the 29th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and will finish on Saturday, the 31st from 8:00 to noon. For more information, contact the Conservation Education Center.
