Roadwork is continuing in and around Washington. The construction that started in July will feature a wider road and added safety features. Field Services Coordinator for District 5 Jason Huddle says crews are currently in the process of doing overlay work as well as painting stripes on the new pavement from the north junction of Highway 92 to 2nd Street in Washington.
He notes there are still no detours planned, but delays can be expected during the construction. The entire project that is slated to be done by the end of the month will bring Madison Street in Washington down to three lanes as well. In addition, patch work is being performed from 2nd Street to the east city limits.
