A drug task force and other agencies seized a rolling methamphetamine lab and arrested two people in downtown Washington this afternoon. Names and exact charges have not been released, but Washington Police Chief Greg Goodman says the suspects live in the area.  The meth lab consisted of a small bottle and materials used to create small amounts of meth.

The street on the south side of the Washington square was blocked off for a time while  de-contamination could take place.  The two suspects and two dogs that were in the car were washed down to remove possible hazardous materials. The car that contained the lab was parked in front of the Washington Public Library

Chemicals used to make meth can be flammable and poisonous.  Goodman says that beyond a small fire hazard, the lab posed no risk of dangerous explosion, as is sometimes the case with larger labs.
