The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks face Mediapolis tonight, in an out of conference battle.
The Golden Hawks are coming off of their upset of No. 4 West Branch, and have so far this year won both games that they were considered underdogs in.
Mid-Prairie is shooting 40 percent from the floor, and 50 percent from the free throw line, but their defensive deflections and pressure that is not on the score sheet is the strength of the team.
They are led by Dayton Hall with 26 points this season.
Mediapolis is 3-1 this year losing their only game to West Branch, the first game of the year.
They are shooting 40 percent from the floor as well, but after four games and not just two.
They are led by Jordan Wagenbach who has 83 points in four games, and is shooting 44 percent from the floor and 32 percent from beyond the arc.
Golden Hawk head coach Chris Kern said after the game against West Branch that Mediapolis is a good team, that is even better at home.
“You know Mediapolis at Mediapolis, they’ve had some success down there the last year with football, basketball and other things, so it is going to be very important that we are ready to win when we go down there [tonight],” Kern said.
