The Washington City Park Board is looking ahead to the installation of a new device at the city pool that assists a disabled person with getting into the water. A lift will be installed at the Steele Family Aquatic Center that helps a person get from a wheelchair into the pool. Park Superintendent Tim Widmer says that it’s part of a new federal requirement. The park board received a grant from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation recently that will assist with much of the five-thousand dollar total cost of the lift.
