National Library Week has been celebrated since 1958 with different themes each year. This year Library Week occurs from April 7th thru April 13th with the theme being Libraries = Strong Communities. The Kalona Library has several different activities planned for the week.
.• Food for Fines: We will be collecting food donations for the Kalona Food Bank April 8th thru April 13th.
• Guess How Many Books We Have: If the number that you guess is the closest to the actual number you will win either a 15 piece box of chocolates from Kalona Chocolates or a $15 gift card to Kalona Brewery.
• For adults- we will be hiding 5 “golden tickets” within the adult fiction books. Find a ticket and win a prize.
• During the week we will have puzzles set up for anyone who wishes to put their puzzle piece skills to work.
• April 13th is National Scrabble Day and what better way to unite a community than a hard fought win at Scrabble. We will have a couple of boards set up all day for anyone who would like to play but it will be on a first come first serve basis.
