The Washington County Board of Supervisors discussed the process of appointing people to positions and the conservation board yesterday. During the public open discussion Carlos Wilson expressed his current disappointment with the conservation board. Supervisor Steve Davis stated that the conservation board recommends appointments and then the supervisors approve them.

Supervisor Jack Seward asked if supervisors can find their own candidate for the board, to which County Attorney Larry Brock said he would have to review the code. The supervisors have yet to approve the board appointment for the term that begins this year.

KCII reported on December 6th that Washington County Director of Conservation Steve Anderson had paid fines for two infractions – pursuing a white tail deer without a valid license, while hunting in Jefferson County with a tag valid only for Washington County and unlawful transportation of a white tail deer.
